The Toyota RAV4 is a perennial favorite among small SUV buyers. It has plenty of cargo room and seating for two rows of passengers. There are several advanced safety functions and the infotainment setup is highly user-friendly. Under the hood, you’ll find an efficient powertrain that offers a smooth ride. Families benefit from its ample cargo space, reliability ratings, positive reviews, and accessible family-friendly extras – making it one of the top contenders in its class.

The 2022 Toyota RAV4 is powered by a 203-horsepower four-cylinder engine, connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission. This output offers excellent performance for a base engine in its category, and the estimated fuel economy of 27 mpg city and 35 mpg highway (front-wheel drive) makes it even better. The all-wheel drive version decreases slightly – ranging from 27/34 mpg city/highway down to 25/32 mpg.

With a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, the RAV4 comes standard, but an 8-inch touchscreen is available. The menus are easy to navigate, and the center stack is crowded with large, clearly labeled buttons and knobs. Although the on-screen graphics are somewhat staid, it can sometimes lag in responding to your touch, so those who prioritize the latest in-car technology may be disappointed.
